Note: TLP Phase I is designed to let you explore and express the basic concepts in different subjects. The questions asked in this phase won’t be too analytical. However, they will require you to connect different concepts and evolve a response.

This time, we are posting questions in Hindi as well to encourage participation from aspirants writing their exam in Hindi language. We request you to write and upload your answers on this forum and get benefited from the community.

1. What is bioremediation? How does it work? How can it address pollution? Discuss.

जैविकीकरण क्या है? यह कैसे काम करता है? यह प्रदूषण कैसे निपटा सकता है? चर्चा करें।

2. Discuss the principles of environmental impact assessment (EIA)? Also examine the need of EIA to address the ‘development versus conservation’ dilemma.  

पर्यावरणीय प्रभाव आकलन (ईआईए) के सिद्धांतों पर चर्चा करें? इसके अलावा ‘विकास बनाम संरक्षण’ दुविधा को संबोधित करने के लिए ईआईए की आवश्यकता की जांच भी करें।

3. The Indo-Gangetic plains witness devastating floods each year while on the other hand peninsular states suffer from severe droughts. Can interlinking of rivers address this problem? Critically examine.

सिंधु-गंगा के मैदान हर वर्ष विनाशकारी बाढ़ के साक्षी होते है जबकि दूसरी ओर प्रायद्वीपीय राज्य गंभीर सूखे से ग्रस्त होते हैं। क्या नदियों को जोड़कर इस समस्या का समाधान हो सकता है? समालोचनात्मक जांच करें।

4. With increasing policy impetus on manufacturing industries, it is imperative to create awareness about industrial disasters and also the necessary institutional mechanism to tackle such disasters. Comment.

विनिर्माण उद्योगों पर नीतिगत प्रोत्साहन के साथ, औद्योगिक आपदाओं के बारे में जागरूकता पैदा करना जरूरी है और साथ ही ऐसे दुर्घटनाओं से निपटने के लिए आवश्यक संस्थागत तंत्र का निर्माण भी जरूरी है। टिप्पणी करें।

5. What makes coastal India more susceptible to tropical cyclones? Discuss. Also examine the strategies to mitigate tropical cyclones.  

भारत के तटों को उष्णकटिबंधीय चक्रवातों के लिए अधिक संवेदनापूर्ण क्या बनाता है? चर्चा करें। उष्णकटिबंधीय चक्रवातों के असर को कम करने की रणनीतियों की भी जांच करें।
