IASbaba’s Interview Discussion UPSC IAS [DAY 3]: Think, Rethink and Perform (TRP)

Archives

Set 1: Ask these questions to yourself; contemplate and come out with a concrete answer (not to be discussed on this forum). Invest at least 30 minutes on this set of questions.

  • What makes you happy? Do small things matter to you? Or you aspire for something great in your life and then become happy?
  • Can the service you are aspiring for give you happiness? Is your happiness dependent on your  job?
  • Can there be other sources of happiness as well? Think about it.

Set 2: Analyse the following issue:

Why is it that a public emergency in the form of hazardous pollution levels in North India in general and Delhi-NCR in particular doesn’t get adequate attention from the policymakers? If you compare the current levels of pollution in India with the developed countries of the world, it appears that as  if Indians have developed the habit of compromising their lives and health. In a city of Japan, the moment PM 2.5 concentration rose above 16 marks, the residents started wearing masks. In Delhi, the PM levels are more than 800 in some places and yet there is hardly any attention towards the extreme public hazard.

Are our priorities as a nation need recalibration? Isn’t access to clean and safe environment a basic human right? Think, contemplate and reflect your thoughts.

P.S: Discuss and encourage others to discuss in the comment section below. This will help you in getting various dimensions of an issue, reasoning behind it which is very important in your Interview Preparation.
