Dear Aspirants,

We have written this book on Indian Society with with the sole intention of helping aspirants and providing guidance in this subject.

Why book on Indian society? One simple reason is there is no standard textbook on this subject which has been written keeping CSE MAINS in mind.

Also, the materials on this subject are scattered in nature. Hence, we thought a single source might help aspirants in understanding basic concepts while saving their precious time.

How can this book help?

  1. One important aspect of this book is that it covers all the topics of Indian Society.
  2. We have tried to include various flow charts, graphs, examples and case studies so that aspirants can freely use them in mains answer. Also, all the diagrams have been taken from authentic sources such as government documents, PIB, among others.
  3. We have made sure to keep this book lean and thin as we are well aware that CSE aspirants have to read various subjects including History, Geography, Economy, Polity, S&T etc. Hence, they cannot afford to invest disproportionate time on one subject.
  4. Moreover, we are almost certain that this book can help in Essay Preparation. Concepts and examples used in the book can provide materials to write essay on topics related to Indian Society.
  5. We will also provide additional materials on current affairs topics through the EDGE Platform, an important element of this book.
  6. We also believe that the concepts given in the book can help in forming an informed opinion, needed for the Personality Test stage.

Who are we?

  1. I am Nityanand Jha, IPS 2019 batch, Maharashtra cadre. Presently, I am posted as Additional SP Gondia district, MH. I secured AIR 128 in CSE 2018. My optional subject was Sociology and fortunately, I got 326/500 marks in my optional 🙂
  2. Ayushi Singh, IAS 2019 batch, Maharashtra cadre. She secured AIR 86 in CSE 2018. Presently, she is posted as Zilla Parishad (ZP) CEO Gadchiroli district, MH. Her optional subject was PSIR.

We would like the aspirants to read the basics given in the book and build upon it. We would be more than happy if this book helps even few aspirants in improving their understanding of the subject matter and ultimately their score in the Mains examination.

Wish you all the best dear aspirants !!
