The issue for discussion today is the following:

India is celebrating its 68th Republic Day today. You know the significance of this day in Indian history. Our Constitution was enacted on this day of 1950. The Constitution envisaged a country where rule of law, fundamental rights and a welfare state would be the basis of prosperity and progress.

Given a chance to examine the situation of our country on these yardsticks, what would be your assessment? Has India failed to realise the goals envisaged by the Constitution? What is your contribution?
