Set 1: Ask these questions to yourself; contemplate and come out with a concrete answer (not to be discussed on this forum). Invest at least 30 minutes on this set of questions.

• What does success mean to you?
• Are you successful today? Or does qualifying UPSC mean success to you?
• Does your notion of success and happiness augur well with your conscience? Think about it.

Set 2: Analyse the following issue:

Have we, as a nation, failed to ensure the safety of women? Inspite of all the laws, the state machinery and power, women in India don’t feel secure. Why? What lies at the bottom of this problem? People talk about psyche a lot in this regard? Is our psyche distorted somehow? Why can’t we respect women? Why do patriarchal prejudices construct the image of women and not their achievements and potential? Will this ever change? How can we change it? Discuss.
