- This award is instituted by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, are “National Award in recognition of exceptional work for women empowerment.”
- The National Award is given annually on March 8th to individuals, groups, institutions in recognition of their exceptional work towards the cause of women empowerment, especially for vulnerable and marginalized women.
