1. True patriotism hates injustice in its own land more than anywhere else.

 सच्ची देशभक्ति कहीं और से ज्यादा अपने देश में अन्याय से नफरत करती है।

2. Bravery is not the absence of fear, it is overcoming it.

 बहादुरी डर की अनुपस्थिति नहीं है, बल्कि उस पर काबू पाना है।

3. Nationalism has nothing to do with democratic values: Authoritarians can be nationalists; indeed, most are.

राष्ट्रवाद का लोकतांत्रिक मूल्यों से कोई लेना–देना नहीं है: सत्तावादी राष्ट्रवादी हो सकते हैं; वास्तव में, अधिकतर  हैं।
