  • A crowdsourcing-based mobile application developed by TRAI to collect user feedback on voice-call quality
  • Users can rate call quality and provide information about the location and network experience
  • The aggregated data helps TRAI identify areas with poor network performance and assess service-provider quality. 
  • The upgraded platform incorporates improved technology and user-interface features for wider participation.

  • TRAI was established in 1997 under the TRAI Act, 1997

What is Banderol?

  • Banderol (S8000) is a Russian cruise missile designed as a relatively inexpensive long-range precision-strike weapon. 
  • It has been associated with the Inokhodets (Orion) UAV, from which it can be air-launched. 
  • Its low-cost design allows Russia to potentially employ it in larger numbers, placing additional pressure on sophisticated air-defence systems. 
  • Reports also indicate development/use of mobile ground-based launchers, potentially expanding its deployment flexibility. 

Cruise Missile: Prelims Concept

A cruise missile is an unmanned, self-propelled guided weapon that generally flies through the atmosphere using aerodynamic lift for most of its trajectory. Unlike a ballistic missile, it does not follow a predominantly ballistic trajectory.

Modified Interest Subvention Scheme (MISS): Affordable Agricultural Credit for Farmers

The Union Government has continued the Modified Interest Subvention Scheme (MISS) to ensure short-term institutional credit at concessional interest rates for farmers through the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) framework. The scheme is part of the government’s broader effort to improve access to affordable agricultural credit.

What is MISS?

  • MISS provides interest subvention on short-term crop loans to eligible farmers. 
  • It operates through KCC-linked institutional lending. 
  • Eligible farmers can obtain short-term loans at a concessional interest rate of 7% per annum
  • An additional 3% Prompt Repayment Incentive (PRI) is available to farmers who repay loans on time, effectively reducing the interest burden to 4%

Ethiopia was in the news after a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall struck the Tsadqane Debre Mitmaq St. Mary Monastery in the Amhara Region on 3 August 2026, killing at least 14 people and injuring several others. Rescue operations continued amid fears that more people could be trapped.

  • Ethiopia is a landlocked country in the Horn of Africa
  • It borders Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia, Kenya, South Sudan and Sudan

What is Magnetorheological Fluid?

  • An MR fluid is a smart fluid whose apparent viscosity and flow behaviour change rapidly when exposed to a magnetic field
  • It generally consists of magnetically responsive particles, such as iron particles, suspended in a carrier fluid. 
  • In the absence of a magnetic field, particles remain relatively randomly dispersed and the fluid flows easily. 
  • When a magnetic field is applied, particles align into chain-like structures, increasing resistance to flow and effectively changing the fluid’s mechanical behaviour. 
  • The change is rapid and reversible, making MR fluids useful for adaptive systems.
