UPSC Notification 2016
After a short delay, finally UPSC has posted the notification for CSE (Pre)-2016. People were anticipating some major changes after numerous protests but there has been no change in the pattern of exam from the last year.
The highlights are:
- There will be two exams in Prelims- Paper I and Paper II, 200 marks each. Exam will be objective type. This year also, Paper II, i.e. the CSAT Paper is qualifying only with a cap of 33% So again, the deciding factor will be Paper-I.
- The number of attempts and age limit is same as last year.
- In CSE (Mains), there will be one Essay Paper, four GS Papers and two papers for One optional Subject. Also there will be two qualifying language papers with 25% qualifying marks. The total marks for Mains exam are 1750.
- Personality Test or Interview will be for 275 marks.
- Number of seats has been reduced to 1079 this year.
