Question 3 of 5
3. Question
Tickets numbered 1 to 50 are mixed and one ticket is drawn at random. Find the probability that the ticket drawn has a number which is a multiple of 4 or 7?
Correct
Solution (a)
S = {1, 2, 3, …… 49, 50}
E = {4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48, 7, 14, 21, 35, 42, 49}
n(S) = 50
n(E) = 18
P(E) = n(E)/n(S) = 18/50
Therefore, P(E) = n(E)/n(S) = 9/25
Incorrect
Solution (a)

Question 4 of 5
4. Question
A Shopkeeper sells 2 things – bed set and sofa set, both at the same price of Rs 49,999. In doing so he manages to gain 10% on bed set while he incurred a loss of 10% in selling sofa set. Then the net percentage profit or loss in whole transaction is?
Correct
Solution (c)
When two articles are sold at same price but one of them at a profit and another at a loss and the percentage profit is the same as the percentage loss then there is always loss
And loss = (common gain or loss/10)2
Here, loss % = (10/10)2 = 12 = 1

Question 5 of 5
5. Question
A group wanted to renovate their club. Each member contributed an amount equal to twice the number of members in the club. But the government contributed same amount as the number of members. If each member had contributed the same amount as the number of members and the government had given an amount twice the number of members, then they would have Rs. 210 less. How many members are there?
Correct
Solution (b)
This is very easy problem, here simply take an option and check for the above condition
For ex: take option a = 7
According to the question
7*(2*7) + 7 = 105 Rs
7*7 + (2×7) = 63 Rs
10563 ≠ 210 Rs
Take option 2 = 15
15*(2*15) + 15 = 465 Rs
15*15 + (2*15) = 255 Rs
465255 = 210 R
