Welcome to Day 52 of TLP Phase II. Please understand that the next 12 weeks are not meant to test your knowledge. Most of you are giving your first attempt and its really important for you to self assess yourself over the fundamentals of various subjects. And even if you have appeared for CSM before, it is always desirable to brush up your basics before you go on to attempt highly analytical and thought provoking questions asked by UPSC. TLP Phase I was designed precisely for that. Moving on to Phase II, we will cover all possible issues of contemporary importance as well as touching upon various aspects of static subjects.

Please be sincere and regular in this phase of your preparation because what you build here will become the foundation of phase II of TLP.


1. “Investing in women’s lives is an investment in sustainable development”. In the light of the given statement, examine the importance of the ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ scheme and the ‘Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana’.


2. For a country sitting at the cusp of a demographic disaster, it is imperative to unleash the entrepreneurial energy of its marginalized and weaker sections. Discuss. Also examine the provisions of the Stand Up India Loan Scheme in this regard.


3. A house is a security that allows every individual to flourish under a sense of dignity. Elucidate. Also examine the significance of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in ensuring the social dignity of an individual.


4. The provisions of the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Loan Scheme will go a long way in unleashing the true potential of small businesses in India which will have many positive spillovers. Do you agree? Examine.


5. Imparting skills to the burgeoning youth population is imperative to address the jobless growth being witnessed in India. Critically comment. Also discuss the various initiatives that aim at imparting skills to different target groups.
