1. On the outline map of India provided to you, mark the location of all of the following. Write in your QCA Booklet the significance of the locations, whether physical/commercial/economic/ecological/environmental/cultural in not more than 30 words for each entry: (2 x 5 =10 marks)

2. Briefly explain the following terms in not more than 50 words each: (5 x 5 =25 marks)

  1. Schumpeterian theory of development
  2. Formal region
  3. Functional region
  4. Compage
  5. Methods of regionalisation

3. The subjective view of region, according to which regions do not exist in reality and are simply mental constructs, is vital for planning. Substantiate by taking suitable examples. (20 marks)

4. Regions interact and integrate rather than break. Analyse. (15 marks)

5. Discuss briefly the Growth Pole theory. Also examine the relevance of growth pole for addressing regional imbalance. (15 marks)
