Welcome to Day 58 of TLP Phase II. Please understand that the next 12 weeks are not meant to test your knowledge. Most of you are giving your first attempt and its really important for you to self assess yourself over the fundamentals of various subjects. And even if you have appeared for CSM before, it is always desirable to brush up your basics before you go on to attempt highly analytical and thought provoking questions asked by UPSC. TLP Phase I was designed precisely for that. Moving on to Phase II, we will cover all possible issues of contemporary importance as well as touching upon various aspects of static subjects.

Please be sincere and regular in this phase of your preparation because what you build here will become the foundation of phase II of TLP.


1. India  and  Israel  share  common  interests  and  face  similar  challenges.  In  this context,  the  recent  visit  by India’s  PM  to  Israel  is  a  reaffirmation  of  the  need  to explore  the  full  potential  of  Indo-Israel  ties.  Elucidate.


2. India’s  approach  to  its  ties  with  Nepal  needs  recalibration  keeping  in  mind  the geostrategic  significance  of the  landlocked  nation.  Examine.


3. Rivalries  and  tensions  in  the  Islamic  world  could  throw  some  challenges  to India’s dealings  in  West  Asia. Analyse.


4. The  Hamburg  Action  Plan  assumes  particular  significance  for  India  in  the  wake of ongoing  efforts  to improve  India’s  ease  of  doing  business.  Comment.


5. To  assume  a  role  as  an  outpost  country  in  the  US’  strategy  to  contain  China  is not  in  line  with  India’s interests.  Do  you  agree?  Substantiate.
