It doesn’t matter what you are trying to achieve – how big or small the goal is, or how difficult it is to accomplish it, the single biggest factor that will determine whether you will get there or not is self-belief. Believing in yourself is more than wishful thinking, and more than positive thinking, it is a quality that goes to the very heart of who you are as a person and what you are capable of achieving.
Most people aren’t aware if they even believe in themselves or not. Yes, they work towards their goals, try and put in the necessary effort. But they aren’t aware if they truly believe in themselves or merely giving something a try.
There is a lot of difference between giving something a try to see if it works, and putting everything on the line to get there. This is what separates individuals. While most simple strive, constantly self doubting their abilities, a rare few fully believe in themselves and are willing to risk everything to be able to accomplish their goals.
Self-belief is the starting point of all great journeys. Without self-belief, the journey ends even before it begins. Without self-belief, all the effort that goes into accomplish something will eventually prove to be futile. The easiest way to know if you truly believe in yourself is by listening to how you talk to yourself.
The language you use to communicate with yourself, and the way you do it can give a clear idea if you are a believer or a doubter. If you do realize that you constantly get into negative self-talk, then changing that can be first step toward improving your self-belief.
