DETAILED PROGRAMME FEATURES

“Those who fail to plan, plan to fail.”

ILP-2023 does the planning for you in the most systematic and logical way. The plans are made to keep you on track as well on your toes. In the plan, you will get day-wise coverage of the syllabus, sources to refer and focus areas.

Detailed Micro- Plan – The detailed plan covers the Prelims & Mains Syllabus which will take care of your overall preparation in the form of daily targets. Each Module spans over 10 + days where at the end of the modules you’ll be taking a Prelims and Mains Test. The Daily Plan also includes sources to refer to. Current Affairs is also part of the planning so that both static and current issues are dealt with simultaneously.

Microplanning is the heart and soul of ILP-2023 that needs to be followed with utmost sincerity.

NCERT Coverage- ILP-2023 starts with a thorough coverage of NCERT’s relevant for UPSC Prelims and Mains. Before switching to standard sources and books, you would already have a thorough content for better understanding of subjects and also a starting point for your Mains Answer Writing.

Minimum Sources – The sources to be referred have been kept to the bare minimum. If you go through the plan, you will find that we have confined our sources to a maximum of 2 per subject (One being NCERT). It has been done to prevent a candidate from wasting their precious time in going through the repetitive and irrelevant sources available in the market. You’ll be following one reference book per subject and IASbaba’s Value Add Notes (VAN).

Revision – Due consideration has been given for Revision that will help to consolidate what you have learnt in a particular module. Since the process is long and intensive, the lack of revision can be fatal. Therefore, we have given adequate room for revision and consolidation.

ILP-2023 VANs are high-quality specialized reading materials to give you an edge over your competitors. VANs have been designed intelligently to give you both prelims and mains covering the most important sources like Standard Text Books, Government Documents and Reports, Ministry Websites, PIB, ARC Reports, Economic Survey, Budget Document etc. to make your understanding seamless and smooth. With our value-add notes (VAN), you will be able to declutter the complexity of UPSC syllabus.

The VANs shall cover the static as well as contemporary issues related to every single topic given in the syllabus including GS 1, GS 2, GS 3, GS 4 (Ethics). You need not look beyond sources other than the standard ones given in the plan and ILP-2023 VAN’s.

We have simplified the VAN covering all important aspects so that it can be your ‘One Stop Source for UPSC Preparation’.

For Example:

  • For Modern History – You have to refer to NCERT’s (Old and New) and IASbaba’s VAN only. The relevant content from books like Bipan Chandra, ‘Plassey to Partition’, Spectrum etc. will be covered in the VANs.
  • For Environment and Ecology – NCERT and ILP-2023 VAN’s along with Babapedia (Current Affairs) will cover all your Prelims and Mains syllabus. You don’t have to refer to any other books!
  • For Science & Technology – NCERT and ILP-2023 VAN’s along with Babapedia (Current Affairs) will cover all your Prelims and Mains syllabus. You don’t have to refer to any other books!
  • Similarly, for other subjects, you do not have to go beyond the prescribed sources and VAN’s.

Covering current affairs is a big challenge for many aspirants. Most of the time students are confused about which sources to refer to? what to read? what not to read? to what depth to read?

Here comes Babapedia to your rescue. Babapedia is divided into Prelimspedia and Mainspedia for both your prelims and mains preparation. It is one of its kind compendiums of current affairs.

Prelimspedia gets updated on a daily basis. The only thing required is to log into your ILP account every day and go through the precise and crisp current affairs notes updated daily on Babapedia! Isn’t that awesome?

Mainspedia also gets updated on a daily basis. It is one of its kind initiatives where we declutter the most important editorials across national dailies to bring you relevant and ready ‘Introductions’, ‘Conclusions’, ‘facts’, ‘data’ in tabular format.

We will be providing the Mainspedia Articles in the Answer Writing Format (Introduction, Body, Conclusion).

Please Note: You will get unlimited complimentary access to Current Affairs content from 2016 onwards till mid May 2023. Babapedia is categorized Day-wise, Month-wise and Subject-wise, to make it very user-friendly and easily accessible!

Mindmaps will be a part of Value Add Notes (VAN). There are several mental techniques to enhance your learning experience. One such technique is mind map which has been proven very effective to revise and retain the topics.

The main reasons for this are –

  • It is pictographic.
  • It helps you to visualize an image rather than the paragraphs. This way you will recall it much easier in the exam.
  • It is crisp, so more information can be squeezed in a small space.
  • You wouldn’t require bulky notes before the exam to revise.

Essay is an important part of one’s preparation for the Civil Services exam. Since it is not a subject per se, you can’t read and learn it from the book. The more you’ll gain information on the GS subject, the more equipped you will become to tackle an essay.

In the ILP plan, once a sufficient portion of each subject is covered, we will start your essay preparation. Guidelines will be provided to you on how to write an essay, and then mock essays will be given for practice.

UPSC asks for two types of topics – a static/ factual topic and a philosophical topic. Approach for both is different and will be provided to you as part of the Program. The requisite skills and aptitude to write a scoring Essay shall be imparted with the help of regular guidelines given in the form of writing tips.

  • Essay strategy videos
  • Framework for theme-wise (Including Philosophical) essays
  • Mainspedia Content

Theme wise Essay Tests will be included in the Plan

Please Note: Synopsis will not be provided for Essay Tests.

If you happen to clear the Mains Written Examination, the Interview Mentorship Program (IMP) which includes DAF Analysis and Questionnaire, Mock Interview, One-on-One Session with Founders and Retired Civil Servants and Officers at no extra cost.

IS ILP-2023 SUITABLE FOR WORKING PROFESSIONALS?

  • It is a fact that the exam does not differentiate between a working professional or a candidate who is dedicatedly preparing for it. The only thing which matters is how prepared you are on the day of the exam.
  • Since you are working, you are not left with a lot of time in hand to be invested in studies. So, a basic question is, what kind of strategy should be followed?
  • As a working professional, the most important thing that you need is a plan. With ILP-2023, we have made the most achievable plan where you will be able to finish your preparation according to a given timeline.
