Kannada literature has always been a popular and one of the most preferred optional subject for the UPSC Civil Service Mains Examination. A majority of the topics in the literature are interesting and the subject itself has proved to be very scoring in the past few years. ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಲೋಕಸೇವಾ ಆಯೋಗದ ನಾಗರೀಕ ಸೇವಾ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಐಚ್ಛಿಕ ವಿಷಯ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಕಲೆಯು ಕೂಡ. ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ನಾವು ಗಮನಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ವಿಷಯಗಳು ಪಠ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ವಿಸ್ತಾರ, ಪಠ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಓದಿ ಮುಗಿಸಲು/ತಯಾರಿ ನಡೆಸಲು ಬೇಕಿರುವ ಸಮಯ, ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳ ಪುನಾರವರ್ತನೆ, ಪುನರ್ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ (Revision) ಮಾಡಲು ಬೇಕಿರುವ ಸಮಯ, ಮುಖ್ಯ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂಕಗಳಿಕೆಯ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ, ಸಮಗ್ರ ಅಧ್ಯಯನಕ್ಕೆ ಪೂರಕವಾದ ಸಾಮಗ್ರಿಗಳ ಪೂರೈಕೆ (Materials Availability)
ಈ ಅಂಶಗಳನ್ನು ನಾವು ಗಮನಿಸಿದರೆ ಯು.ಪಿ.ಎಸ್.ಸಿ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಮೂದಿಸಿರುವ ಕೆಲವೇ ಐಚ್ಛಿಕ ವಿಷಯಗಳು ಈ ಅಂಶಗಳಿಗೆ ಪೂರಕವಾದಂತವು. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಲ್ಲುವಂತದ್ದು ದ್ರಾವಿಡ ಭಾಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖವಾದ ಕನ್ನಡ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ.
Why Kannada Literature?
ಸೀಮಿತ ಮತ್ತು ಪರಿಚಿತವಾದ ಪಠ್ಯಕ್ರಮ, ಕೇವಲ 4 ತಿಂಗಳ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲಿನ ಬಾರಿಯ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮುಗಿಸಿ ಕೆಲವೇ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪುನರ್ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ (Revision) ಮಾಡುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಇದೆ. ಪಠ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಸೀಮಿತವಾಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅಧ್ಯಯನದ ಅವಧಿಯ ಕೇವಲ 30-35% ಸಮಯವನ್ನು ಐಚ್ಛಿಕ ವಿಷಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸೀಮಿತ ಮಾಡಿ ಮಿಕ್ಕ ಸಮಯವನ್ನು General Studies ಅಧ್ಯಯನಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಡುಪಾಗಿ ಇಡಬಹುದು.
ಇನ್ನೂ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯ ವಿಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರೆ ಸುಮಾರು 80% ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳು ಪುನರಾವರ್ತನೆಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತವೆ. ಮಿಕ್ಕಿರುವ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳು ಪಠ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಮಿತಿಯಲ್ಲೆ ಇರುತ್ತವೆ. ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಅನ್ಯ ಐಚ್ಛಿಕ ವಿಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲವು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗಳು ಪಠ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಹೊರಗಡೆಯಿಂದ ಬಂದರೆ ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ವಿಚಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತಿ ವಿರಳ. ಕನ್ನಡ ನಮ್ಮ ಮಾತೃ ಭಾಷೆಯಾಗಿರುವದರಿಂದ ಆಲೋಚನೆ/ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳು ಸರಾಗವಾಗಿ ಹರಿಯುತ್ತವೆ. ಇದರಿಂದಾಗಿ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 280-300 ಆಸುಪಾಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂಕಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆಯುವುದು ಸುಲಭ, ಐಚ್ಛಿಕ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ 300ರ ಆಸುಪಾಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದರೆ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಸಂದರ್ಶನ ಹಂತಕ್ಕೆ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
ಒಂದೆಡೆ ಅಂಕಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವುದು ಸುಲಭವಾದರೆ, ನಾಡುನುಡಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಅಭಿಮಾನ ಇದ್ದವರಿಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಸೇವೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವ ಅವಕಾಶ ದೊರೆಯುತ್ತದೆ.
ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯವನ್ನು ಐಚ್ಛಿಕ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಇರುವ ಸಂಶಯಗಳು
ಐದಾರು ವರ್ಷ ಡಿಗ್ರಿಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಕಡಿಮೆ, ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ/ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಓದಿದ್ದು, ಕನ್ನಡ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಎಂದರೆ ಹಳಗನ್ನಡ ಇರುತ್ತೆ-ಹಳಗನ್ನಡದ ಬಗೆಗಿನ ಹಿಂದಿನಿಂದ ಬಂದಿರುವ ಭಯ. ಇವು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಬರುವ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಳು.
ಪ್ರಿಯ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳೇ ಕನ್ನಡವನ್ನು ಕಲಿಯಲು ಕನ್ನಡದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಒಲವಿದ್ದರೆ ಸಾಕು ನೀವು ಡಿಗ್ರಿಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಓದದೇ ಇದ್ದರೂ ಕನ್ನಡವನ್ನು ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಓದಲು ಬರೆಯಲು ಬಂದರೆ ಸಾಕು. ಮಿಕ್ಕ ವಿಚಾರಗಳನ್ನು ನಾವು ತರಗತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳಿಕೊಡುತ್ತೆವೆ.
ಹಲವು ಬಾರಿ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ/ತಂತ್ರಜ್ಞಾನ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದವರೇ ಈ ಐಚ್ಛಿಕ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಅಂಕಗಳನ್ನು ಗಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ಭಯ ಪಡುವ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆಯಿಲ್ಲಾ.
ಹಳಗನ್ನಡ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ನಾವು High Schoolನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಪದ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಓದಿ ನೆನಪಿಟ್ಟು ಇಡೀ ಪದ್ಯವನ್ನು ಬರೆಯುವಂತದ್ದಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಳಗನ್ನಡದ ಕೆಲವು ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿಕೊಂಡು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಉತ್ತರವನ್ನು ಸುಂದರಗೊಳಿಸಬೇಕೆ ಹೊರತು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ಹಳಗನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯುವಂತದ್ದೇನಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಗಮನಿಸಿದರೆ ಹಳಗನ್ನಡ ಭಾಗವೇ ತುಂಬಾ ರಸವತ್ತಾದ ಭಾಗ, ಅಂಕಗಳಿಸಲು ಸುಲಭವಾದ ಭಾಗ.
