Set 2: Analyse the following issue:

Religious Godmen and their institutions have proliferated in the country. Every other day, we hear about cases and controversies surrounding Babas, Ashrams and their illegal activities. Somehow, it feels that blind faith has pervaded the psyche of an average Indian. What is the root cause of this phenomenon? Why blind faith and superstition has succeeded in having a deep rooted foothold in India? Can you explain the economics behind this?
