Question 2 of 5
2. Question
In a recent data it was seen that India’s real estate sector sees K-shaped recovery. What is K-shaped recovery?
Correct
Solution (d)
A K-shaped recovery happens when different sections of an economy recover at starkly different rates.
Households at the top of the pyramid are likely to have seen their in- comes largely protected, and savings rates forced up during the lockdown, increasing ‘fuel in the tank’ to drive future consumption. Meanwhile, households at the bottom are likely to have witnessed permanent hits to jobs and incomes.
Implications of K-shaped economic recovery:
- A K-shaped recovery is an unusual scenario where certain industries and individuals pull out of a recession, while others stagnate.
- This type of recovery essentially splits an economy in two, with the divisions occurring along class, racial, geographic, or industry lines.
- It exposes pre-existing divisions and disparities in wealth, and can exacerbate them.

Question 3 of 5
3. Question
Consider the following statements regarding BioHub Initiative:
- It is an initiative of World Health Organization.
- It will enable rapid sharing of pathogens between laboratories and member states.
Which of the above statements is/are correct?
Correct
Solution (c)
The World Health Organization (WHO) and Switzerland signed a Memorandum of Undersatnding (MoU) to launch a BioHub facility that will allow rapid sharing of pathogens between laboratories and partners to facilitate a better analysis and preparedness against them.
The move is significant in the view of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic and the need to underline the importance of sharing pathogen information to assess risks and launch countermeasures.
The facility will help in safe reception, sequencing, storage and preparation of biological materials for distribution to other laboratories, so as to facilitate global preparedness against these pathogens.
Presently pathogens are shared bilaterally between countries. BioHub initiative will enable member states to share biological materials with and via the BioHub under pre-agreed conditions, including biosafety, biosecurity, and other applicable regulations. This will ensure timeliness and predictability in response activities.

Question 4 of 5
4. Question
Recently a miniature sculpture of the Buddha was found sitting in Dharmachakra Mudra. Consider the following statements regarding this:
- This Mudra is formed with the help of two hands which are placed on the lap and the right hand on the left hand with stretched fingers.
- This Mudra represents the offering, welcome, charity, giving, compassion and sincerity.
Which of the above statements is/are correct?
Correct
Solution (d)
The Dharmachakra Mudra is formed when the thumb and index finger of both the hands touch at their tip to form a circle. This particular circle symbolizes the wheel of Dharma. Both the hands are held against the chest in Vitarka, while the left hand is facing inward which covers the right hand facing outwards.
Dharmachakra in Sanskrit means the wheel of Dharma. This mudra symbolizes one of the most important moments in the life of Buddha, the occasion when he preached to his companions the first sermon after his Enlightment in the deer park at Sarnath.

Question 5 of 5
5. Question
Recently, a rare celestial event took place in which Total lunar eclipse coincided with supermoon, what does that mean?
Correct
Solution (b)
A supermoon occurs when the Moon’s orbit is closest to the Earth at the same time that the Moon is full. As the Moon orbits the Earth, there is a point of time when the distance between the two is the least (called the perigee when the average distance is about 360,000 km from the Earth) and a point of time when the distance is the most (called the apogee when the distance is about 405,000 km from the Earth).
Now, when a full Moon appears at the point when the distance between the Earth and the Moon is the least, not only does it appear to be brighter but it is also larger than a regular full moon.
Recently, two celestial events took place at the same time. One is the supermoon and the other is a total lunar eclipse, which is when the Moon and Sun are on opposite sides of the Earth. Because of the total lunar eclipse, the moon also appeared to be red. This is because the Earth blocked some of the light from the Sun from reaching the moon and as the Earth’s atmosphere filters the light, it softened “the edge of our planet’s shadow” “giving the Moon a deep, rosy glow.”
